Personal biography

Taking the first step into therapy can bring a mix of hesitation and hope. It’s okay not to have it all figured out. You might come in carrying complex experiences, feeling unsure about what healing could look like, or even feeling pressure to be further along than you are right now. In our work together, you’ll be met exactly where you are – with warmth, clarity, and a trauma-informed approach that honours your lived experience.

In our work together, I draw from a trauma-informed lens and integrate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices. I’m also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which allows me to support clients in processing and healing from trauma in a safe and compassionate way. My approach is culturally responsive, ethically grounded, and rooted in the belief that healing is always possible – even when the path forward feels uncertain.

I hold a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and am registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as a Psychological Associate under supervised practice. At Therapy Villa, I provide assessment and therapy under the supervision of Ms. Niyati Gandhi, M.A., C.Psych and Dr. Sneha Pitre, PhD., C.Psych.

Alongside my clinical work, I’ve co-authored peer-reviewed research on PTSD, substance use disorder, and trauma recovery, which deepens the knowledge I bring to therapy. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, substance use, identity exploration, and relational stressors.

For me, therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about understanding, honouring, and growing through what you’ve carried. As Carl Rogers beautifully said, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

More Than Just My Work...

Outside of my work, I deeply value family, friendship, and the joy of bringing people together. I am also entrepreneurial. I own a spice brand that reflects my love for cooking and creating warm, shared experiences. For me, a homemade meal is more than food – it’s a way to connect, celebrate culture, and build community around the table.
